Seldom does an artist of Michael Brown’s caliber come along to inspire today’s fast-paced digital world. Both serene and passionate at once, his images speak from an ancient universal language of beauty that anyone can understand and relate to.  He fearlessly reaches into his innermost visions and experiences, finding places that many humans fear to confront in themselves. Exploring the inner map of the psyche and the heart, he translates what he finds into breathtaking imagery that illustrates the journey of growth and transcendence from the inescapable phenomenon of human conditioning.

Michael grew up between an older sister and a younger brother with their parents in Connecticut.  He studied religion and writing at Syracuse University in New York, where he first grew to appreciate Eastern philosophy and mysticism.  He then moved to Vermont for a few years to commune with the snowy mountain-tops and fully embody the life of an artist.  He has spent much of his adult life traveling, honing his artistic skills and his personal growth, and the ever-evolving practice of healthier living and coexistence with nature.

Michael draws inspiration from a wide variety of experiences.  He continues to explore philosophies that have inspired him, such as Buddhism, Yoga, Vipassana and other forms of meditation, and dancing under the full moon.  He shares his creative energy with several different communities, such as the yearly Burning Man festival.

He currently resides with his fiancé, Violet, and their cat, Figaro, in San Diego, California. All of Michael's paintings and drawings are done by hand without the useof computers or airbrushes.
