Sketchbooks

The images presented in these sketchbooks represent a cross-section of some of the drawings, sketches and doodles created over the years. Inspiration is found in many places- be it waiting for a bus, sitting by a river, atop a mountain or at a cafe table alongside a busy street- the energy is there just waiting to be tapped into.

Sketches are often the first step to creating a painting. They are off-the-cuff renditions of an emotional state, a thought or an abstraction of some sight or sound. The sketchbook is often one of the most valuable tools an artist has.
