About the Workshop
Join Michael Divine for a 5 day workshop focused on exploring creative techniques for expanding your creative boundaries. Merging technical applications with creative approaches to drawing out the visions within ourselves, we will spend five days exploring our personal visual language and learning how to better translate that onto the canvas.
Students will work at developing spaciousness and perspective within their work. while learning how to use layout and composition to create more subtle visual connections, achieving a more expansive quality within the work.
You will learn historical, practical, and personal approaches to the creative process. There will be demonstrations in drawing and in various techniques using acrylic paint, as well as extensive presentations and focused studio time with one-on-one instruction. We will paint in acrylics using various glazing techniques with emphasises on color, tone, compositions, and brush and line work.
We will spend our time developing a painting from it’s early stages through to completion. Students will be given detailed instructions upon signing up as to how they can properly prepare for the workshop.
This workshop is both a suitable introduction for the beginning artist as well as the intermediate or advanced artists looking to expand their technique and broaden their visual language and relationship to the creative process. To that end, this workshop focuses on each student’s personal abilities, helping them to learn how to bring forth a realized idea or vision onto the canvas via tools and techniques that stem from classical artistic applications. Michael teaches tools and methods that students can utilize to better accomplish their artistic goals – both creatively and technically.
We are very excited to share this with you and hope that you can attend.
